So this is worse than The Dark Knight [imdb score 8.9]?

One example why IMDb is a circus-parade, Or a Don Giovanni play by Mozart...

Anyone who has real respect for the man or his music knows this movie is pure trash.

Ridiculous. I love Mozart and i will always regard him as the best composer of all time. But I love this movie because it's a great piece of historical FICTION with great music and a terrific performance by F. Murray Abrahams. Anyone with real respect for Mozart knows that it is a fictious tale and knows how to make the distinction and can still love the movie for what it is.

Also for the sake of it, what makes you think a (musical) genius can't be a 'clownish' person?

IMDB fanboys and their damned Nolan and Dark Knight, are not at all a portrayal of reality.

Here people are seriously retarded as well.

Dark KNight better than Amadeus?? my ass!!!!

This movie is WAY worse than "The Dark Knight."

This movie basically spits on Mozart's life turning him into a clownish, cartoonish figure for the amusement of the ignorant masses.

Anything different from the Dark Knight is for some people ridiculous, thrash for the masses, I see.

I donΒ΄t think this movie is a shame for Mozart, but completely the opposite.
Any one can see the diference between a movie portrayal (as Tom HulceΒ΄s one) and the reality

Excuse me, but then again WHY people insist so much in knowing the death of Mozart and all the truth around it as fact, and insist this is merely fiction; there are plenty theories around Mozart and Salieri.
Amadeus is not a fiction tale it is just a theory.

Do you recognize my voice...?

"The most sensational hypothesis for what killed Mozart, which spread as a rumor after his death, was that he was poisoned by his composer colleague Antonio Salieri. However, these rumours were likely false; the symptoms that Mozart showed were unlikely indications of poisoning. Despite denying the allegations, Salieri was greatly affected by the accusation, which contributed to nervous breakdowns in later life."

it's also a view of Mozart through the eyes and memories of his rival. therefore, it would be unrealistic for it to be entirely realistic

The Dark Knight barely registers a 4.9 with me, mate...a very boring film based around a hugely overrated central performance by a dead guy.

Have to agree with you there. I never understood the hysteria surrounding The Dark Knight. Nearly every time I ask a young(ish) guy what their favourite film is, they will invariably bore me with "The Dark Knight" - I immediately have a mental image of Michael Palin as Gumby and develop a sudden desire to be doing something more interesting...like rearrange my sock drawer.

The Dark Knight is a reasonably fluffy and entertaining film. Heath Ledger (who was, in general, outstandingly talented - Monster's Ball and BBM in particular) was fine in it. But the blind devotion the movie has amassed is mind boggling to me.

Nolan has done some incredible work, case in point: The Prestige, but I find The Dark Knight unexceptional.
