One 'no' vote for a remake

Tempting as it may be to imagine another film, in the current climate it would probably go one of two ways: an examination of the hero's and viiains' twisted psyches (a la 'Batman XXIII: Batman and The Joker Go For Couple's Therapy') or a "buddy comedy" with jokes about aliens passing gas. Either way, it would tarnish the memory of a really enjoyable one-of-a-kind film.

Agreed! here's another 'no' vote as well!

One vote 'yes', but only if either Earl Mac Rauch or W.D. Richter are involved in some fashion.

I'm not sure I really want a remake, but anything with Buckaroo would be great, especially if it's still as much fun...

I'll vote a tentative "yes"

One vote yes.

Another vote "yes".

The world needs Buckaroo Banzai, now more than ever.

Imagine that.

reply

Heck no!

This movie should not be ruined with a remake. Almost all remakes are awful. It's too late for a sequel, but what about a television show or miniseries? I would be interested in that. Actually, didn't that almost happen a few years back?

Remakes are usually weak.

The credits mention a sequel, "Buckaroo Banzai Against the World Crime League", which was never produced. That ship has sailed.

Another "no" vote for a remake.
