Mona and Mrs. Rossini....?

I noticed that practically every time they were both in the same scene together Mona made some kind of snide remarks to or about Mrs. Rossini None of the other characters ever seemed to acknowledge this and Mrs. Rossini herself just seemed to always stand there and take it. I remember in one episode "Choose Me" they were in competition for the same man and ended up almost fighting over him. Thats the only time I can think of where Mrs. Rossini actually said anything back to Mona about constantly bashing her, but my question is why did they dislike each other so much in the first place, I must have missed something?

I don't know how or why Mrs Rossini or anyone in the Bauer household put up with Mona. She's a rude, lazy, ungrateful, self-involved bi**h.

The few so-called "tender" moments when she confesses (despite her outward appearance) that she actually loves & cares for Angela hardly make up for the avalanche of degrading insults, irresponsible behavior, and purposeful neglect of the family. On countless occaisions she passed on opportunities to help Sam & Jonathan along the way in dealing with a problem & giving guidance, but blows them off with "I have a date", "I'm getting my hair done" or whatever.

She milks Angela's career success by sponging off of her, then has the audacity to constantly portray Angela as a loser.

I understand there really are people like this, so I don't fault the writers for adding this element of realism into the show. However, realistically, the family would also be more impatient and angry with her rude & irresponsible behavior and stand up to her every once in awhile.

It's called joking people. Mona may make snide remarks but even she doesn't take herself too seriously. And it's spelled "Bower." And all of the Bower-Micelli clan loved Mona. And Mona did not say something to Carmella Rossini every time she came over. When Mrs. Rossini came over to talk about her husband, Joe, leaving her, Mona was very supportive. The women got along really well to an extent, Mona just made snide remarks every so often. And Carmella came back with her own.

And to the last poster, you obviously don't watch Who's the Boss? very much or very often. Mona put, as Angela said, more letters in Angela's life. Mona taught her how to laugh at herself and not to take herself so seriously. Angela loved Mona. And Mona never left any doubt that she loved her family. She helped Angela get over the Mr. Peterson remark, she helped Angela get her business off the ground, she helped Samantha over her first broken heart, and she made sure that Jonathan knew that she loved him. She did a lot to help her family, but most of all she helped get Tony and Angela together. Without Mona there would have never been a show.

Mona was hilarious. She gave the show a great comedy element. She and Mrs. Rossini also had a nice rivalry.

I agree. Also, Mrs. Rossini was like a mother to Tony...therefore she and Mona were like in laws...in sitcom land they were supposed to be Frenemies.
