A Farewell to Nick...
Watching this show brings back memories - I haven't seen most of them since they first aired on ABC during the mid-late 1980's, so last night's "A Farewell to Nick" was another walk down memory lane:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0747741/
and it seemed that Alyssa and the cast weren't acting their sadness after the sudden passing of James Coco, similar to the Cheers cast after the death of Ernie "Coach" Pantusso...
And, some might recall that at that time both Judith Light and Alyssa Milano were friends to Indiana teen and AIDS patient Ryan White (Judith Light later played Ryan's mom in a TV movie about his life), and were also at Ryan's funeral in 1990, so this was also a time of change and loss for them, as happens to most everyone at some point in life (me, too)...
And, as much as I wanted to like HTB completely, similar to even last night's script at one point, sometimes the sexual innuendo was just too much and I'd watch something else - except that CBS had "Houston Knights" (never watched it), and Matlock on NBC (but then that was an hour show and I couldn't watch "Growing Pains" which followed HTB at 8:30)...
If that failed, there was PBS or the stereo (what's a stereo)...
Wow - 24 years ago (ouch or creak - whichever comes first - lol)...
Still, it's faults aside, hearing the opening music for the show always brings a smile to my face, since there are so many of my own good memories connected with it...
