6.4?!

I can't believe the low rating! Sure, there's some hammyness and cheesyness, but gawsh I've always thought this show was well-written and well-acted and really original with most of its humor. There were so many crowning moments of funny and charm! I just can't believe the rating...

One of the shows I really enjoy. It is well acted and quite classy. I can watch it with the young people in the family and not worry that it'll take the low road for laughs. It's not preachy or full of itself. It's a fun sitcom that comes across as a place where the cast actually likes and respects one another.

That rating annoys me as well. I think people have a low opinion of sitcoms, especially 80s ones, in general. This show is so funny and the chemistry between Tony and Judith is there from the beginning. And the premise was pretty unique at the time. I'd probably rank this show as one of my top 10 favorite series.

I think there are a couple reasons - 1) I loved the show, but it did really decline in the end. 2) Some people don't think it's original thinking of other shows that were similar or copied script plots - BUT forget that in most cases, this was the FIRST - for instance, this came BEFORE the Nanny (which did copy many of their plots) - but younger viewers saw The Nanny first, then WTB in reruns and fail to give WTB the credit for being original. 3) The Angela/Tony romance was prolonged and ping-ponged a bit too much and 4) Tony's character became very annoying in the end, which was really sad as he started so great
