Tony and Angela wedding
How come the show didn't end with them having a wedding ceremony. I know it came back full circle at the end when he shows up at the doorstep but I thought a wedding would have been the most appropriate finale.
shareI believe I read or heard somewhere that Tony didn't want the finale to be a wedding. I think his reasoning was that that had been done before.
I would have liked to see a wedding, but there's really no doubt in my mind after that finale that these are two people who're going to be together for the long haul.

Originally the plan was for the two to get married in the middle of the last season, with the final episodes focusing on the newlyweds. But producer Sony was worried that a wedding and marriage would hurt the syndication value of the show, so they decided not to end the series that way.
I thought the finale was very good. You don't see a wedding, but you know they are together. Interestingly enough, there was a British version of this series, based on the American version, and the two leads did get married. In the last season, they had a baby.
I would have loved to see a wedding, I thought it would be appropriate too. But, Tony Danza was completely against this. And I could see why... It would be cliche to do it. Look at I Dream of Jeannie and the Nanny and shows where one person meets someone new and at first was a platonic relationship, but the sexual tension grows into something new; usually ending them in marriage. Who's the Boss kind've changed it up a bit, which kind've made it a little more unique.
IMDB is nothing but criticism. Expect it.
