Is Hallmark editing?

That's a shame. I knew the other channel's that aired it edited also. I really hope the rest of the series get's released eventually. Thanks for your response.

Well, like, yeah, of course Hallmark is editing out the offensive, "butt." I mean, like, Hallmark is the FAMILY CHANNEL don't ya know (and yeah, that was sarcasm). I mean, I am glad that Hallmark is airing this show, but it's annoying when they edit stuff out. They do it with Cheers and Golden Girls. It's really irritating when you're sitting there and the characters are verbally sparring with each other, and you're ready to laugh, but can't because suddenly the sound cuts out every other word thanks to the "editing" that they've done. *sigh*

I also wish that Hallmark would air Who's the Boss at a more reasonable hour than just 3am to 5am. Yes, I'm a late nighter on a regular basis, and I've been using Cheers followed by Who's the Boss to fall asleep at night, but well, if they're going to air this show, why so late at night/early in the morning? Though it speaks volumes on their financial situation that they no longer need to air "Paid Programming" during the time they are airing Who's the Boss, so I guess that's some improvement.

When the original poster talked about editing, I thought immediately about the amount of commercials/promotions/PSAs(Public Service Announcements) that appear now on TV programs.

When the shows mentioned were first aired, a one hour time slot had 54 or 55 minutes of that program time, and the 30 minutes slots had no more than 3 minutes out of the program, for 27 minutes of the show.

Now, it is almost impossibly annoying at 16 minutes of commercials/promos/PSAs in that same one hour slot. That means cutting about 6 minutes from a 27 minute show.

With that amount of editing for time, I find it pretty amazing there is any continuity remaining in a show. In response to that, **some** channels allow the shows to run over the 30 minute time slot, while keeping all of the commercials/etc, and more of the original show. Other channels split the screen at the end of the show with the "coming next week" and the credits run at a high speed, and in only part of the screen, while the introduction of the next show runs in the other part of the screen.

Even with the high-def broadcasts, that makes the credits nearly impossible to read, and I am surprised the owners of the programs' rights haven't stopped that high speed, split screen practice already.
