I mean, the explanation was plausible enough, that his grandmother got better and he went back to live with her. He was only a minor character so it didn't really handicap the show at all, but he didn't slow it down either. He was adorable anyway, which counts for something. But did he just not test with audiences well or something?
shareHe really wasn't needed, and I'm guessing the audience didn't really like him. It was just yet another attempt of a show doing the "cute" kid thing. I never understood why shows did it so much during that time period, either adding a kid or aging one like Growing Pains and Family Ties did! That's one thing about sitcoms that I'm glad has stopped.
