A really lame and cheesy show!!

a free to air channel in Australia have be playing old 80s/90s comedies and family sitcoms for a while and I've been checking ones out like Step By Step, Growing Pains, Valerie, Perfect Strangers and others but this one is just terrible!

I enjoy and can sit through the others but this one I gave up on after a couple of seasons, incredibly cringeworthy, lame, cheesy in a bad way and over acted. Tony acts so happy all the time, it's sickening. I understand shows back then were like this but Jesus *beep* Christ!!

It made a little more sense in the 80s when it came out, but it was still over-acted even for 80s TV.

It had it moments. It was a good lighthearted show. Yes there were episodes that were pretty silly like the first ep. where Mrs. Roselli wanted to hug Angela. Hugging a total stranger is dumb and any person would not like that.

The premise of the show was not realistic but one liked the characters.

That's the one Embassy show I truly detest, then and now. For one thing, it wasn't funny, and when you consider the involvement of people who made All in the Family, Taxi, Soap, and WKRP in Cincinnati, which actually were funny and are rightly regarded among the all-time great sitcoms today. But this one, nope. It just fucking sucks. I've never heard anyone quote a funny line from it. It's actually worse than Hello, Larry which at least had a good cast and a catchy theme. This show's stale, sanctimonious, and idiotic theme "song" drives me up the wall.
And Norman Lear basically had fuck all to do with it; the show he actually produced in 1984, aka Pablo, also aired on ABC in 1984 and flopped. But this shit just went on and on and on until ABC had finally had enough and put it up against an actually funny show called The Golden Girls in order to put it out of its misery. Tony Danza was the worst cast member of Taxi, but if that show was like Mama's homemade plate of linguini and clams with olive oil and fresh garlic, this show was like a half-cooked can of Chef Boyardee spaghetti and meatballs. Judith Light is so cold she looks like she could make alcohol freeze. Alyssa Milano was no Valerie Bertinelli, and Danny Pintauro was one of the worst child actors of the decade if not of all time; As the World Turns saw its best years only after he left for this mess. And what a deplorable waste of Katherine Helmond, who should have won an Emmy for Soap.
