Just started watching the series...

Not strong on the science or even the Tripods but it's long on suspense and decent acting/directing. I just finished episode seven and only wish I could watch it every day. Unfortunately, I can only get time every few days.

Yes, I find it watchful. I like the settings in the first book and wonder where they filmed the series. It is sort of like seeing a beautiful view and wanting to visit.

There is a short list of locations where 'The Tripods' was filmed on the Yahoo! Group fan site 'The League of Freemen'. You have to be a member of the group to be able to see the database section, though.

I just started watching them again. I remember seeing some of it when I was very young when it was on TV. Also remember Blue Peter showing how the Tripods being animated once.

I have to say, it doesnt look at all how I remember it - I seem to remember it looking really bad when I was a kid, but now I am watching them all again I am actually surprised at how good it all looks for a UK scifi series in the 80's!

I am looking forward to the film, I hope that it actually makes it out into the wild.

I saw something about it on an internet article after googling the subject Tripods. It explains why the show was cancelled and all the work that went into the series.

Just about halfway through the 2nd series and I can see why this scared me when i was younger watching it back in the 80s! It's still creepy and tense to this day.

awful acting and rubbish accents, but good fun
