"Be still" makes no sense
In the Swords of Wayland-story (as satanic as it is), there's a really nonsensical part, where Robin is set to murder a couple of big guys from relatively close distance.
Now, these guys are BIG targets. They're not tiny coins in the distance, they're two big, tall guys with armor and masks and whatnot. Even an amateur couldn't miss.
Furthermore, the dudes in question are BARELY moving at all.
As Lars Andersen has shown us, even for amateurs, it's actually EASIER to hit a moving target than a still one - it's counter-intuitive, but that's how it is. Could be some kind of 'archer DNA' in our system because of history, or just some kind of karmic memory from past lives, it could be that psychologically, it's just more interesting to notice, scan, target and hit something moving than something that's still.
Knowing all this, plus adding that he is not some amateur straight from the village hut, but he is - ROBINI THE HOOD - the greatest archer of all time (fictional or otherwise)..
..WHAT kind of sense does it make that he basically prays for his targets to 'be still'?
Please, someone make that make sense to me. Robin Hood, the greatest archer in history, prays that his ENORMOUS targets SHORT DISTANCE away are STILL so it's harder for him to hit them.
What.. the .. F?!
It's EASIER to hit moving targets, these targets are HUGE, the distance is short, the targets are BARELY MOVING AT ALL and he's REALLY, REALLY GOOD at archery.
WHY WOULD HE EVER, _EVER_ WHISPER "BE STILL"?
It could be that he's talking to his hands or something, but even if he has the worst hangover ever, he is still young Robin Hood, how could he of all people miss even if the targets were darting this way and that rapidly?
He has SHOWN he can friggin' cut at a damn ROPE by shooting an arrow through it from very far away - a rope that's MOVING quite fast!
(Some earlier episode where they are 'practicing', everyone is trying to hit a swinging bag, Robin hits the rope the bag is hanging from, the bag falls to the ground, everyone cheers, etc.)
How the HFRGNG could he ever have ANY trouble shooting two massive targets short distance away, so much so that he has to ask Hern (or whomever he's talking to) that those targets 'be still'?!
(Even IF he missed, he can rapidly shoot again, so what difference does it make? He can also learn from his miss to then adjust his shot and be more accurate, so what the..)
THIS MAKES NO SENSE!!
