Few mentions of wolves in a country swarming with them?

England was awash with wolves in the medieval period and eventually they became virtually extinct in the reign of Henry VII (1485-1509), three centuries after this series is set.

Deforestation and hunting bounties from the Middle Ages onwards wiped wolves out by the late Victorian (1837-1901) era.

But, in this great series, we see them only once- when Robin (Jason Connery) and Friar Tuck ride to Yorkshire and Much is seen killing one by bow and arrow.

King John (1199-1216) paid 5 shillings per wolf hide (that paid the wages of a carpenter for 6 months, or the wages of a dairywoman for 12 months).

Edward I (1272-1305) ordered the total extermination of all wolves in his kingdom. He personally employed one Peter Corbet to destroy wolves in the counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire and Staffordshire, areas near the Welsh Marches where wolves were more common than in the southern areas of England.

So it's odd that there is little sight or mention of wolves, which were common then, especially as Little John wears a wolf hide?

I grant you the 'wolvesheads' epithet, which I forgot actually, but that is one-sided from Guisburne and the Sheriff et al.

Out of 26 episodes there is little mention of wolves by the outlaws themselves in the script, who live wild and would have faced them many times in the woodlands, as I mentioned before.
