My thoughts on season 2
So I just finished watching the complete series all within a few weeks. First time I saw some of the episodes in nearly 20 years.(Or whenever WUAB 43 Cleveland stopped playing it)
Season 1 was great. Lots of interesting episodes and characters, season 2 however, not so much.
It sucked to be honest. Serpentor, who was supposed to breath life into the series was hardly used at all. Most of the characters from the previous season were relegated to the background at best while lame ones like Beachhead(I HATED him as a kid), Sci-Fi and Lowlight were used. The Crimson Twins and Storm Shadow were also pretty much unseen as well. If I didn't know better, I'd say that season 2 used an entirely Joe new team in another part of the US, and that half of Cobra was captured and in jail.
The new vehicles they had were also really lame. The Havoc that Cross-Country drove was the ugliest tank ever(the toy was also ugly as hell). Seriously, what retard at Hasbro thought it would be a good idea to have the driver seat up top fully exposed? The same thing can be said about the Cobra stun-tank.
It was also much shorter shorter, only about 30 episodes and it had a lame ending as well. Although that can be overlooked because it was obvious they didn't know the show was going to end like that. I seem to remember it having more episodes, including one where the Dreadnoks come up with yet another song that had the BATs featured in their music video.
Then along came the DIC series. (Do It Cheap?) It was clearly written for a much younger audience. It was bad enough the animation was horrible but the lame humor was really out of place in it. That retarded headbanger Metalhead pretty much ruined the series. The old Cobra Commander would've had that useless turd taken out back and shot.
Cobra Commander's blue/silver suit was just laughable. They didn't do themselves any favors with Destro reverting back to his silver mask in the second season, which was also laughable.
I only saw a handful of the DIC episodes from both seasons, but that's all I need to see to know the series was terrible. The pilot mini-series was decent, after that it was all down hill from there.
