shareyes, and they finally started showing season 2 at 12:30, still a little late, but at least I can make to 1 before falling asleep.
shareSeason two is just about finished, haven't seen these episodes on close to 20 years and I had forgotten how much I disliked most of the second season due to the over use of characters like Dr. Mindbender and the same 6 or 7 Joes and the lack of Cobra Commander and Destro. A real let down.
shareNO KIDDING!!! I can't stand, in no particular order: Lifeline (actually he's first), dialtone, leatherneck, and wetsuit.
I used to get annoyed with how pissed off BeachHead was, always ordering folks around. But now that i'm older I would probably behave the same way around those clowns.
I watched the one the other day when 3 of those previously mentioned took some broads out to a night club (in their uniforms mind you) and they had to use coke cans as propulsion in SPACE.
I liked mainframe but mostly b/c he was tapping zarana.
Season 2 was a step down from the first season, but I actually liked most of the new characters. They certainly had more personality than the later additions to the Transformers.
Low-Light, BeachHead, and Leatherneck were cool. Wet Suit was elevated a bit through his rivalry with Leatherneck. Sgt. Slaughter was and remains awesome as a G.I. Joe, professional wrestler, and individual. General Hawk was a lot like Flint and Duke, but he was still alright. When Lifeline started out, I think that the writer(s) didn't get the reasoning behind pacifism. He was just sort of portrayed as someone who believed in naive alternatives to violence, but he matured in his characterization (possibly under different writers?) and became a more sincere character with believable motives and values. Iceberg was better utilized than Snowjob and had a hot girlfriend. The rest were welcome inclusions. Sci-Fi was a joke, but everyone else was alright.
On Cobra's end, I thought that Dr. Mindbender was a cool villain. The male Dreadnoks neither added to, nor took anything away from the team. Honestly, I think that they should have had two of the older Dreadnoks incarcerated to make room. Zarana was a nice addition. Serpentor was kind of bland, but he had a few good moments. I mostly would have changed the ridiculous costume and done away with some of his blander mannerisms.
For the most part, I welcomed the new additions and thought that they were better than some of the b and c team entries from the first season and miniseries.
Love the HD transfers on these
