Who is the second redhead?

I just got through watching the Pyramid of Darkness arc for the second time. In the 4th episode, I noticed a redhead other than Scarlett was among the Joe's ranks. At first, I thought that she was Scarlett and that there had simply been a continuity error. At the time, Scarlett was a captive aboard the space station and the second redhead appaerad aboard the Joes' ship. Upon a closer inspection, however, I noticed it wasn't her. She had a similar face, but her hair was shorter and she had a different attire. Besides standing in the background during Shipwreck and Snake Eyes' reunion in the 4th episode, she also joined in the assult on Cobra's lair in the 5th.

In neither episode did she have a single line of dialog and her name was never spoken. I haven't seen her in any other episodes, but then again I haven't seen but a fraction of them.

Anyone know who she was?

Unless I'm wrong, you're talking about Cover Girl. In the original miniseries, she had long, blonde hair. From that point on, she's generally had shorter, reddish hair (although it varies in length from time to time)... Is the girl below the one you mean? If so, that's Cover Girl.

The thought had crossed my mind that it might be Cover Girl, but then I dismissed it on grounds that they'd never turn the team's sole blonde into a short-haired redhead. Apparently, that wasn't the case.

Thanks for answering my question, but this is one occasion in which I would have rather been wrong. The least they could have done is given her black hair. They already had a redhead and a brunette. I don't see why they needed a third female character with that same kind of hair color.

btw, the toys make her look like a middle-aged drug addict.

I'm watching the later episodes of the first season, which feature her more often than what the earlier episodes did, and I really think that they made a mistake with making her a second redhead. When Scarlett wears her hair in a pony tail, the two are almost identical in appearance. She looks nice, but it's just too similar to another established character's look.

Many of us thought they were 2 separate women. It looks bad in retrospect that the hasbro toy line only manufactured 1 female joe (or Cobra)each year. There should have been more. That means there were only 6 in the collection in 1987. Some people (the older sisters & mothers of my friends with whom I played GI Joe) thought it was discrimination!

It has been YEARS since I've seen the series but I am wondering if you are referring to Lady Jaye? She had short hair and used javelins as a primary weapon. Lady Jaye was a pretty prominent character in the cartoon though so odds are you would have seen her in at least a few episodes.

Lady Jaye is recognizably different from Scarlett. The answer was Cover Girl. For whatever reason, they changed her from a long haired blonde to a short haired redhead. It doesn't look bad, but it's too similar to Scarlett and, well, not very cover girl-ish. I don't think I've ever seen a short haired cover girl who didn't have black or blonde hair.
