Boards of Canada soundtrack......... ....

Is it me or does the soundtrack remind anyone else here of boards of canada, an electronic group off the warp record label?

Some of the stuff on their debut album- 'music has the right to children', really, really reminds me of Xtro.

The film rocks by the way.

Yes, the cover of that album also reminds me of the ending with the Tony clones.
I love that Children's Film Foundation synth vibe.

Glad some one else out their agrees. Have you heard the album? tracks on there like bocuma, roygbiv and smokes quantity are really reminiscent of the film. In fact, i think the boards' said they use to go out and rent video nasties when they were kids; and im pretty certain xtro must've been one of them.

In my opinion, the synth scores that where used in the late 70s and early 80s where the best thing to accompany horror films.

Always filled the films with atmosphere and dread. Wish they still used 'em.

'Roygbiv' is my fave track on that album, but it's too short!

Talking of early 80's horror scores, Allan Holzman's Forbidden World and Norman J. Warren's Inseminoid both have excellent minimal synth soundtracks.

Will have to check them out then. They available to order?

Roygbiv is a wicked track, just the right length. BoC have said in interviews that when they use an infectious melody they make it short so people will play them over and over again.
