after seeing xtro II: the second encounter i decided to look up this movie. i was shocked to learn that the character "shepherd" from xtro II, who everyone refers to as the only one to have returned from the texas facility (presumably the setting of this one) isnt even in the first one! this brings up the question of what relevance (if any) does this film have to its seque that i have to say, i thoroughly enjoyed.
shareBest I can tell there are NO real ties between 1 & 2, just the name and the director. It doesn't matter anyway because the movie sucked, it was just a cheap, cliche ridden attempt to do for "Xtro" what was done for "Aliens".

when they made xtro 2 they said " i luv alien+aliens(the movies) lets copy them but lets remove all the good scary stuff and hav it in a crap under base and poo actors and poor script .. i no we will hav only 1 alien like in alien it will b a *beep* version of the queen that looks plastic.w sound good 2 u.. we hav a hit i think" i think not.. xtro 3 watched it years ago and it suscked i think.. a little skinny alien thing running round kicking ass.. could hav been a good comedy

Both 1 and 2 had good things going for it, but spent too much time on crappy-ass dialogue trying to develop characters that nobody gave a s*** about. They both should have been balls-the-wall gore and action. Then I would have liked them.
Xtro1 has an awesome creature and good effect (what little there are) and Xtro2 has an awesome theme song, though.

Well, i was very intrigued by that since i saw the second 1(it was the first i saw of the 3, back in 1992)...since then i got obssesed on finding the first Xtro, and then time went by without any result until the third one came out, i still had trouble finding it, well the search took almost 10 years, it was very rare to find 1 of those movies, until 2001 i got a VHS copy, 1st edition of the first one, and i saw it and loved it!!..but still, it has nothing to do with any of the films, they're all diferent stories with only 1 thing in common: "eXtra-TerrestRial-Organisms(X.T.R.O)", well at least i cracked the code on the name, it's cool, very original and sinister, i wish they made a 4th installment, as good as the 1st one, or better...
