One Of The Creepiest Moments Ever

When the car driving through the wooded area almost hits the alien(Xtro?). Just a guy in a rubber suit walking on his hands and feet, face up. Simple but VERY effective and VERY creepy. It was a great idea and I can't believe it hadn't (to my knowledge) been done before. When I watch the DVD I replay this scene over a few times and EVERY time it still freaks me out. I LOVE this stuff!

I remember seeing pictures of that scene in Twilight Zone magazine waaaay
back in '82; in fact, that's what made me want to see the film. Very simple effects and uncomplicated monster-in-a-rubber-suit, but boy, quite terrifying!

Albeit lacking in adequate special effect, personally I think the original "clone" ending is creepy as hell and certainly more effective than the released ending, too bad Davenport wasn't allowed to keep it intact.

Well, the entire film looked quite authentic in comparison to the clone scene, where you could clearly see that those are masks. But it was better than the one that Xtro has been released with, which was just over the top and kind of mainstream.

The whole movie is very authentic in its drama. The characters are played and the dialog is delivered so well by the cast, that now I don't even think of this as a horror film. It isn't even sci-fi enough, because its aspects get a little attention.

This is a really good film, even though Harry Bromley Davenport said bad things about it. The plot might suck, but the execution does not.

Yeah, that's about the only riveting aspect of the movie, Timbliz. THAT was memorable

I agree that the creature on the roadside was a very creepy scene. The creature was only seen briefly and the people in the car (or the viewers of the film) were only able to see that it was something strange and not quite normal. But as the car seemed to hit it, they had to come out and investigate. Don't remember seeing anything quite like that in any other film.
