The atmosphere! Others like it?

One of the reasons I love this movie so much is because it has such a rich atmosphere. The workshop synthisizers, the shrewd 80s lighting, the spacey setpieces, the trippy sci-fi premise, the cheap oldskool special effects -- all of these elements give the movie a very COSMIC atmosphere. Other cosmic movies that I've encountered include THE MAN WHO FELL TO THE EARTH, Ngai Kai Lam's THE CAT, and INSEMINOID. I'm really interested in these oldskool surreal sci-fi movies with the insane synthsized soundtracks, bizarre happenings, and weirded-out narratives. Is there anyone who knows of other movies like the ones mentioned? I know I'm being vague here, but please bear with me, I AM DESPERATE!

Totally agree that the film possesses some good creppy atmosphere. However, I totally disagree with your positive words for a truly awful film like Inseminoid!

Of course INSEMINOID is throwaway, but it's got a cosmic atmosphere and it's an enjoyable watch. ALIEN rip-off you say? Not really...

The atmosphere in this movie is totally creepy. I love it! Something about synthesizers that always creeps me out.
