One scene that I'm surprised no one is talking about **SPOILERS**

The scene were Tony (the son) is in bed and his mom finds blood all over him. The doctor examines him, and finds the blood isn't Tony's at all.

I always wondered what this scene was supposed to mean. Did Tony's dad do that to him? (cover him in someone else's blood).

It's obvious that the makers of this flick did it just "for the hell of it" (maybe under the influence of alcohol & pot). But usually during these unintentional gigs you get some genuine stuff. So, if you put your mind into it, this may be the final warning to the kid's mom: "He is MINE and he'll die." After all it's not about the death of body (actually the child will survive through the whole movie), but the death of his soul. He is turning into monster step by step, becoming something you don't want to come in contact with. The kids in "Children of the Corn" are amateurs if compared to Tony in the second half of "Xtro" and this is one of the details why this flick is very imposing.

Bit late to this - I always presumed it was showing there was a very strong bond between the two, somehow even sharing the same physical space, could waffle on but I think the last guy's got it right - loads of drugs and a bucket of spare stage blood.
