Woman in cottage rapid pregnancy

Just two things-

I'd love to know who came up with that idea and

did you ever notice you don't see that in any other movie? With Aliens raping women all over the place, and you never see them depect the pregnancy. Maybe after Xtro did it no one else wanted to try it.

This did happen in another movie. I want to say it was in either Warlock or Wishmaster. A woman became pregnant by the moon and had an instant pregnancy. I don't recall if she gave birth to an adult or if it was a baby that developed to an adult within minutes.

That was Warlock the Armageddon. She gave birth to some kind of pulsing shell that opened up to reveal the Warlock.

I wished that it happened in Wishmaster. If they ever make another Wishmaster movie, that is what I am hoping for.

reply

She gave birth to some shapeless black blob that grew into the adult warlock within seconds.

reply

I did.

Best idea I ever had.

And we didn't rip it off from anyone, and I don't think it's been done since.

Best wishes,

Harry Bromley-Davenport (Director)

Hilarious!

In STARBURST magazine, it stated that the infamous scene would be an even more 'full frontal assault on the senses' in the Japanese print. Was this just hype, I wonder.

Having the dog (Divine) eating the remains of the alien form was a nice touch. There must be some deeper meaning to that but I can't think what.

reply

I think the deeper meaning in what Divine ate was that the ingredients of your average can of dog food are about the same as rotting alien flesh, having served more than a few cans to little furry friends I can believe it.
That whole scene would make an interesting insert in a child birthing tape for first time parents, and we would certainly see a jump in demands for C-sections as well as having tubes immediately tied.
:) Yes this sense of humor of mine makes me a hit with the ladies
Seriously if I had to list ten death scenes that are truly bold and unique it would certainly make it in the upper five, it flew in the face of the censors and I'm amazed he managed to get it released intact.

Heck, I might as well promote my website - http://www.andybob.com

For a moment there, I thought you were referring to Divine in 'Pink Flamingos', I had to read the thread to work out what you really were talking about :).

Definitely a memorable scene, I'll have to show it to my girlfriend next time I see her.

A Classic unforgettable scene!

In ALIEN, the creature is doing Lambert with its probing thing between her legs but as you see the tail between her feet the camera cuts away to Ripley racing down the corridor but you can hear the Alien's *beep* Noises.

reply

Slither (2006) by James Gunn
Grant Grant (the alien) impregnates Brenda with tubes out of his stomach.
Brenda eats lots of meat
Brenda blows up releasing hundreds of alien slugs.

If I remember there was kinda a rapid pregnancy in one of the Species movies. I think it was part two, where the alien creature ruptured out of one of the women's belly early in the film. Pretty bloody too and the belly was completely blown open like a shredded melon.

reply

Basic thing, alien/monster/mutant rapes in movies are done poorly. Xtro women is impregnated, gives impossible birth, then dead. Xtro 2, women gives birth(sort of) to alien, dies, then body is completely dessicated. the Terror Within, women ISN'T raped, but dies giving birth to mutant baby with assumption she was raped earlier. Later, another women is raped, and she kills, or actually the fetus kills her when she tries to abort it. Species 2, male bybrid goes around having sex with hookers, prostitutes, call girls, etc. it shows the first one dying by having her stomach expand, then open quite neatly, then mutant comes halfway out. Why she died and all later victims got the same result, no idea.

They never explain anything. In Terror Within 2, a women gave birth, she lived, and the Mutant man, who is now teenager actually saved her.(It attacked another women with hope to impregnate her earlier, but she was atomised)

I wonder if their will ever be a alien rape scene that is, A not done poorly, B has some sense to it, and C has some point of death after birth.

PS, of all the alien movies I've seen, the Xtro rape scene is the only one I keep missing. But I did see the part where the alien attacked her with a tentacle in her mouth, but missed the next 10 minutes.

reply

The director very tastefully cut away after the tentacle in the mouth shot, so you didn't miss anything.

reply

Yeah, it was very rapid. Very Xtro like scene.

reply

The end scene in Takeshi Miike's film 'Gozu' has a woman give birth to a grown man. She doesn't die from the experience and it wasn't caused by an alien mind you.

reply

INSEMINOID was released two years before XTRO and it had an alien raping a woman and a nasty rapid birth sequence (I think it took a few days). XTRO was certainly not the first (although it is a much cooler movie than INSEMINOID).

reply

There is one Alien rape / pregnancy scene in Species II and one in Galaxy Of Terror.
And yes, there is also one in Slither.

You... are... my... lucky lucky lucky star...

reply

There is a scene in 'Progeny' where a woman gives birth to a tentacled alien, if my memory serves me right. If people are fans of Brian Yuzna and Stuart Gordon, it's worth checking out: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0167350/

reply

You see it in Species II.
That scene freaked the hell out of me when i first saw it. She literally gives birth (if you can call it that) 2 minutes after having sex with the alien guy.

There is this one ad in Australia - it's an old one now (You'll see it analysed on The Gruen Transfer - Aussie show) where a woman gives birth to a full grown man to advertise not having growth hormone in meat.

Just thought I'd let everyone know.

You should give Humanoids from the Deep a shot. Just seamonsters raping woman and murdering everybody and in the final scene a woman gives birth to one

The Kingdom, with Udo Kier being born (although no alien involved)
