Dudley Moore stuns as Rachel Phillips!!

Having only been familiar with Dudley Moore’s work in silly romps such as ‘10’, ‘Arthur’ and the Mt. Everest of comedy films, ‘Like Father, Like Son’, I never realized he tackled such serious roles as the character of Rachel Phillips in Xtro! When the husband returns to get custody of their child, Dudley gives a complex, multi-layered performance that perfectly encapsulates the emotional torment Rachel is going through, torn between her absent husband and her new, 100% class act of a boyfriend. Does anyone know if he received a BAFTA nomination for this film? I don’t know if Dudley appears in the sequel, but having seen his masterful work in Xtro, I’d fully expect to really believe he is a single mom, struggling to raise her newly born alien creature baby in these tough, modern times. Kudos to Dudley!!
