In the scene where they all walk in slow-motion down the sidewalk, there is a guy leading the group with purple-ish hair. Who is he? He's only in that one scene (I think) He looks way older than the other kids too.

That would be Lippy aka Drew Bernstein, he is the creator of the clothing company Lip Service! i always loved his pants in the film ("Rise" on one leg).
He also used to be in the band Crucifix.

And in that same street walking scene (and on the poster) there is a tall guy in a long overcoat. He doesn't seem to be present in any other scene of the movie, I didn't notice him in the house they lived in. I guess they just used random people for extras in different scenes.
