I love this movie, despite the tragedy

It's an absolute horror what happened to Vic Morrow and the two Vietnamese children, but I still consider this one of my favourite movies, especially now that I'm finally watching the original Twilight Zone series from the 1950s.

I also happen to like the director John Landis, with American Werewolf in London and of course, Trading Places. I even appreciate his style in Michael Jackson's Thriller music video. Have I got bad taste?

It’s definitely a good movie. And An American Werewolf in London is universally very highly regarded. The Twilight Zone show was ‘59-‘64 btw though, so technically actually a ‘60s show that had its first few months in ‘59, though everything really continued culturally. And the show is super, super creepy in that old school way. Btw I found the segment of the movie with the evil child & his TV extremely creepy & disturbing.

I stand corrected: 60s.

That is my favourite segment, because of the creepiness and the utter terror of the residents trying to get a message out when the teacher arrives. And I love the practical effects of the TV monster as it terrifies them all and kills the goldfish :)
