If someone made a Twilight Zone Movie today....

Let's say that somebody wants to make a new Twilight Zone Movie for Theatrical release. It will be another anthology style movie, but with different story segments. The segments that appeared on the last movie will not be repeated or "re-imagined".

What stories would you like to see? Let's limit it to 3 or 4 segments, just like the last movie (ok, 5 if you want to count a short prologue).

I would like to see (in no particular order)

"The Howling Man": traveler finds himself stranded at a monestary during a storm and the monks there have a man in captivity who they claim is the Devil himself.

"Mr. Dingle the Strong": old Burgess Meredith one where a meek guy is given Superstrength by some aliens. The Two Headed alien in this one looked really stupid, but that can be updated very easily.

"The Obsolete Man": another great Meredith performance

For the fourth one, I can't find the title, but it's the one where a "disfigured" woman has just had corrective surgery and her face is in bandages and she wonders if she will finally be able to fit in with the "beautiful" people. Everyone knows how this will end, so there's no suspense anymore, but it was still a good story about beauty and the eye of the beholder.

"Number 12 looks just like you": kind of like the previous one I mentioned, but in this society, everybody has to have surgery at a certain age to look beautiful and perfect, so a lot of the people have the same face. One girl faces her surgery, but desperately wants to keep her own identity.

I'd like to see a remake of the one where the old woman receives mysterious phone calls in the middle of the night from her dead fiance. That was a chilling one. I also liked the one with the group stranded at the diner after a UFO is spotted and the headcount is one more then it should be so everyone knows there is an alien amongst them and they begin doubting even their very own loved ones.

Wasn't there going to be a sequel?

Anyone I'd like to see an alien story. I can't remember the title but I had to read the script back in high school. It was a neighborhood that's electricity is turned off, everything stops working, the people turn on each other and become paranoid and leads to the death of one of them. And then at the end it turned out aliens turned the electricity off all over the world and are watching the humans destroy themselves over it.

I think this was TWILIGHT ZONE episode. Which episode was this?

The Monsters are Due on Maple Street

Everyone has a right to be an idiot, but you are abusing the privellege.

The Monsters are Due on Maple Street

I'd like to see that in a new movie. The script didn't have the ending I expected though.

1. A Most Unusual Camera
2. The Bewitchin' Pool
3. Spur of the Moment
4. Mirror Image

DEFINITLEY The Mosters are Due on Maple Street, but how about Time Enough At Last or Eye of the Beholder (I haven't seen Beholder, I just know about the episode and the ending).

I loved the Howling Man - it's one of my favorite episodes.

I'd also like to see "Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up"

Little Girl Lost - about the kid who rolls off the bed and into another dimension.

Don't remember the name, but the one with Agnes Moorehead as a mute woman in a house with no electricity being menaced by tiny aliens.

The one where the sun is coming toward earth - that was a great one - really terrified me when I was a kid.

I'd like to see those have the big screen treatment - I'm glad you posted this question.

I'd love to see "Time Enough At Last" as one of the segments.

I believe that one was called "The Midnight Sun". And the one with Agnes Morehead was "The Invaders".

I'd love to see "The Parallel" that one where the astronaut gets sent on a mission, comes back and everything, including his ship came back slightly different.

"The Howling Man" would be awesome. The could really do it up the transformation with today's special effects.

Definitely "The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street" should be redone too.

I also loved "The Hitch-hiker". The one where the woman gets into a car accident on a cross-country trip and find herself stalked by a hitchhiker. That creeped the hell out of me when I was a kid.

A few other episodes I'd also like to see redone, Number Twelve Looks Just Like You (everyone one is surgically altered to look like everyone else), The Masks (dying man tricks his ungrateful family into masks that reflect their personality), Death Ship (astronauts sees their dead bodies on crashed replica of their spaceship), The Purple Testament (army guy sees death on the faces of people), and The Shelter (people fight over the only available bomb shelter).

Oh dear...looks like we'll need at least two more TZ new movies.
