30th Anniversary
This movie came out in theaters on Friday, June 24, 1983, and Monday will be its 30th anniversary. I remember very well when it came out in the summer of 1983, I was 15 and between 9th and 10th grade. We had just gotten our first VCR and joined our first video store the previous November, and brought and rented alot of movies, and also planned to see alot of movies in theaters in the summer of 1983, our first really big movie going summer. I wanted to see The Twilight Zone as one of them, but we never got around to seeing it that summer, but I did rent it out and saw it the following year, in 1984. I liked it pretty good, though was not too crazy about the first three segments, they were just all right. But I really liked the fourth segment (Terror at 20,000 feet), it was definitly my favorite part of this movie, and one of the best things I'd ever seen. And for a stretch in 1992 I rented this movie out repeatedly from another video store just to see that segment. And just last month, in May, I rented this movie out from NetFlix and ended up watching it three times, seeing it for the first time in over a decade. I wanted to see it all, but again especially the fourth segment, which I paid extra attention to.
