DVd editted from original version????

When I first saw this movie shortly after it came out, I remember the scene where Vic Morrow was killed was including, with the two children and the helicopter--minus the footage of him gettng filmed of course, but I just bought the video and that scene in the water with the children is completely missing??????

Any info on this would be appreciated!

The entire explosion footage, the film footage with the kids, the alternate angles...meant only for the jurors and courtroom and somehow out now is here

I actually remember seeing this footage on the news around the time of the lawsuit, back in the late 80s. It's been around for years.

You're thinking of the footage shot during the accident. It was never part of the film. The segment has always ended with Vic's character on the train.

Perhaps there was an alternate tv version? I seem to recall the same thing the OP does.

"Rampart: Squad 51."

No it was never part of the movie, the studio would never ever put that in there. The footage was shown on the tv a bunch of times in news reports, that probably where people remember it from.

I actually just asked exactly the same question on another thread.

I'm sure I saw an early theatrical or VHS version that included that which the OP has described, but which seems to be (understandably I suppose) missing from a recent version I saw.
