They really didn't seem to care too much about safety did they.

People being killed and the the kid being hit by a car in It's a Good Life segment which didn't seem like a stunt man but the real kid.

I was wondering this the other day when I watched it again ; at first I thought maybe they used a "little person" for the kid peddling into the back of the car, but it's clearly someone who is far too young! This film had a major impact on Hollywood'a child-working laws and it's not difficult to see why.

There's no way that's a real kid being hit by the car; the accident with the helicopter tainted the entire rest of the production (Spielberg didn't even want to finish the film but was forced to do so by the studio) to the extent of them abandoning the original planned second segment which involved child actors and stuntwork and replaced it with the (very poor) retirement home one.

It was the real kid hit by a car. No way it was a stunt man.

Have always thought it was odd that they would film the helicopter sequence at 2:30 am when most people aren't necessarily at their sharpest point of the day.

It looked like a real kid, but you don't see the face. It could have been a tiny person.
