Vic Morrow's character spewing anti-Jewish garbage

I was shocked to hear him say 'k*ke',especially since Morrow himself was Jewish.

Marry me,Bob Gunton!

reply

But his character was not Jewish, thus the term.

"Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?"

reply

I know. It's just kind of weird to hear a Jew utter those words, especially 'k*kes'. That made my jaw drop.

I have a crush on Vic Morrow. :)

reply

John Landis is also Jewish; you can't tell an anti-racist story without demonstrating how racists behave and talk.

reply

I understand;it's just that I've never heard a Jewish person say the 'K'-word before. Morrow was so good in what little part he had. It's a damn shame he had to die for a stupid movie.

But I still love him, even though he's no longer with us.

I'm stuck in the Seventies and that ain't no jive.

reply

He didn't have to die for this movie... neither did the children he was working with.

I only knew him from Bad News Bears, and I despised him. Don't get me wrong, he was an excellent actor to make you hate him that much. But I was the age of the kids in the movie, and all I knew was that this guy was a hateful sun of a bitch.

So when he died a few years later, I did not feel bad. Terrible, I know, but I was just a dumb kid who associated actors with their parts too closely.

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

I'm sure Vic Morrow can't be the first Jewish actor to play an anti-Semitic bigot. Didn't Leonard Nimoy once play a Holocaust denier?

One of the things "legitimate" actors do is look for parts that are very different from themselves. That's why some actors prefer playing antagonists, because playing someone corrupt, because it's a challenge to them to do it convincingly.

I remember back when Ice-T appeared in the movie Colors, playing a cop, just around the time his song Cop Killer came out, and he was asked why he would choose to play a cop if he hated cops so much. He said it was because he believed it would be a more challenging role for him to play, rather than playing, say a gang member or a drug dealer or whatever.

reply

True. Even Leonardo DiCaprio didn't want to say the N-Word in Django Unchained but had to because that's how racists talked especially at that time period.

"I am the ultimate badass, you do not wanna `*beep*` wit me!"- Hudson in Aliens.

reply

I saw 'Django Unchained' and I hated it. DiCaprio is a subpar actor who could learn a thing or two from watching Morrow's films and the excellent 60s TV show "Combat!".

 I'll always love you,Vic Morrow 

reply

Jews can call each other k*kes, "Yo, k*ke, wassup?" But non-jews can't use the term.

reply

Yes it was disgusting, I am Jewish and even I got offended by that scene.

reply

Yes!!! So shocking!!! I first fell off my chair, then called the police and swallowed 15 horse tranquilizers. Haven't slept for a week.
