The apocalypse will be boring

The living will be so bored they will envy the dead.

Chances are, the immediate aftermath of a global nuclear war wouldn't be very exciting. No marauding zombies, no mutated vampires, no giant irradiated vegetables and insects coming to chew on the survivors. There would be some short-term looting, some rioting in areas not hit too hard by the blasts, but soon the supplies they're stealing would run out and put an end to that. There would be a lot of rubble, people sick with diseases caused by radiation, blast injury, poor nutrition and lack of sanitation, and lots and lots of dead bodies.

For excitement, you'd have to go to areas not affected directly by fallout or blast. You'd get political upheavals, skirmishes over remaining equipment and supplies, and people trying to keep sick and dying refugees out of unaffected areas. But there still wouldn't be any zombies.

Lets hope the 'living' have a .357 magnum w/ enough rounds to end the so called 'boredom'. I know this, when the nukes do go off at least all the smart phones will be dead, forever.

So you have considered your friends/family who have gotten diseases boring, right? When you make light of bad things happening in a movie or in the way people react to it, you are making fun of real life sick and/or suffering people.
Try feeling what the characters felt. When you use your brain, you don't get bored.
