Satan's Alley
What sort of "musical" is "Satan's Alley" supposed to be? It seems more like a modern ballet. I suppose "Cats" was the main influence on the look, but there appears to be no vocal score - it's just dancers performing to songs. I wonder if it would have been a better idea to have Tony dancing the lead "role" in a music video by a famous singer. That was the zeitgeist in 1982/83 -- it would have been fascinating to have a movie from that time satirizing the explosion of MTV.
