Jesse, the director steals the film...great actor

reply

Are you kidding? Even though I love the film, I've always felt he was a weak link in the film.

Coppola36 this is what makes movies so great, everyone has different opinions and tastes, that being said, I would have never thought that anyone would think that the actor who played the director, Steve Inwood, was great in Staying Alive, he was ok but a little annoying, but that's because Stallone's screenplay and direction made him look like an *beep* the stupid outfits he wares while directing are comical, even for the 80's, who the hell wares a full length leather jacket with knee high boots while directing a dance rehearsal lol I did check his career on imdb and he does have 9 films to his credit, Cruising, Prince of the City, Staying Alive and Fame are some good ones, but he's mainly a television character actor, Matlock, Murder She Wrote and General Hospital to name a few, not bad, but I bet this guy John is his biggest fan. I have to thank John, if it wasn't for him I would have never looked into Mr. Inwood. I did like his work in Staying Alive, the scene where Tony Manero tells him he would like a shot at replacing the lead was good, and when he walks out and tells him, "don't expect to get another shot," was good, the dinner party scene was ok, even though he doesn't talk, and the pep talk he gives to Tony Manero prior to the Broadway show is good, and when Tony gets off track and he tells him "that the show is the thing, not you," was really good, so I guess he did a nice acting job with what was given to him.

I don't think he "steals" the film, although he was a good nemisis/angel character. I remember seeing him in films/tv "everywhere" back then, whatever happened to him?

It's not my fault, I'll call you back.
