Thought that this was BBTS. Turns out it sort of is (but isn't)

I remember seeing this a lot as a kid but didn't start thinking about it again until I saw an ad for "Battle Beyond The Stars" and thought maybe that was the movie I remembered watching as a kid. When BBTS came on Netflix, I watched it and was disappointed that, despite some similarities, it clearly was not the movie I was looking for. After some googling and without clearly remembering much other than the end scene with the surviving pirate almost dying and the kid, , I found it and after finding out that they reused footage and music from BBTS and watching a trailer for SR, I can definitely see now why I thought they seemed so similar LOL. I also happened to notice- as a fan of the original G1 Transformers- that the kid here also later did the voice of Spike's kid, Daniel, in TF:TM and in the subsequent season of the show! I would love to own this movie no matter how schlocky it probably will look to me. Some movies stick with you as a kid, this being one of them ;)
