How did so many miss the point?

I first saw this when I was 10, and even then, I got it.

The movie is now dedicated to those who are transgender....HOWEVER...the movie wasn't MEANT like that!

Going to include the spoiler just for the...what...3 people in the world who haven't seen this film yet?

Anyway...

Was I the only one who actually paid attention to Aunt Martha when they watched this film? "Another boy? No, no, no, that just won't do..."

Peter was NOT actually transgender.

Aunt Martha was just insane and forced Peter live *as* Angela because she didn't want another boy in the house.

What makes you think people don't understand that?

reply

Because of so many talking talking about the transgender issue since they decided to dedicate the movie to those who are transgender.

I've seen quite a few saying it was Angela's choice and think it's "cool" to have had a transgender youth in a movie from "so long ago."

Either they missed that little tidbit or...I don't know.

reply

I dont think people missed that point since its spoonfed as the entire point of the movie...

START THE REVOLUTION! SHRED THE GOVERNMENT! My favorite movie is V for Vendetta.

Is there really any actual point to this movie? Shocking twist Angela is the killer and she was really a boy. Should we assume a boy raised as a girl will become a psycho murderer?

Well there was Hitler....

I think the transgender community would have the opposite reaction - be insulted by it.
I boy is FORCED into being transgender and then becomes a murdering psycho because of it!
Lol I don't think I would be using "Angela" as an example of the transgender community.
