Who killed Judy?
Before Judy meets her demise we see a shot of a figure in the open cabin door. The face looks nothing like Angela's and the figure is wearing some sort of a jersey. Did anybody notice this?

You can very clearly tell that it's Felissa Rose/Angela if you're watching one of the better transfers of the movie...maybe back in the VHS days it wasn't quite as obvious.

I'm listening to the blu-ray commentary right now, they confirm it was actually Jonathan Tierston in a wig to resemble Felissa...but regardless, it was still meant to be the Angela character standing in the doorway.

There's some kind of short made that reveals Judy is alive, but I don't think that was necessary. She was clearly meant to die here.

Word. Should have left the bitch dead.
shareIt's very clearly Tierston in a wig. The first shot is brighter than the second shot. Someone on the commentary said that back on VHS, it was so dark that you couldn't tell who it was. Of course at that point in the movie, Ricky had just been beaten up in the woods, so it wasn't his character. I have no idea why they used that actor to try to initiate a red herring.
shareThere is a shot of the killer standing in the doorway right before Judy is killed and although the vhs is such poor quality that you csn only tell who it is on the dvd. Its clearly Ricky standing there, whether it was the intention of the filmmakers to show Ricky as the killer or not.
shareFelissa's parents didn't want her to do any of the "actual" killing as she was only 13 when cast for the role. For all of those scenes, it was in his contract, Jonathan Tierston's ("Ricky's") hands had to be used for close ups and him in a wig for the wide shots.
shareI just watched this last night, probably my fifth time seeing this since my first time seeing it way back in '84 on VHS. This scene has always intrigued me.
I have an interesting theory as to who killed Judy. I think it had to be Ricky.
It makes sense because first of all, he was angry at Judy for rejecting him. They were steady dating the summer before, and throughout the whole movie, he kept trying to rekindle that, but was always getting rejected. Another reason why is because she showed interest in other boys; his friends and even his rivals! Judy showed more interest in the boys harassing Angela than in him! Even the night Judy was killed, what was she doing? Hooking up with another boy, part of the group he hated. This had to have been the last straw for him.
Despite the other theory that makes sense about the contract dispute and the killing, well, that makes sense, but if they were concerned about her doing killing, why the heck would the parents allow her in the movie? No, if Rickey killed nobody else, I think that he was the one who killed Judy.
