Tony's sister was probably making a good wage...but nothing near the money needed for a mansion. He even told his mother at the end "Mama... I don't give her that kind of money". While her businesses was a front to launder his money, she wouldn't get a real cut.
Manny on the other hand, earned a LOT of money. He was Tony's partner. Maybe not entirely 50/50...but darn close to it. He was his right hand man, his enforcer, had saved his life, and helped make the initial connections to get them out of freedom town. With them pulling in 20 million per month... say they lose 10% on counter surveillance and another 10% on laundering..they still have 16 million left. Ok... say they have 20 guys for security of the operation and the sellers... that costs another 2 million per month. We're at 14 now. Now you have those who etc salaries at the laundering operations. They MIGHT hold their own without the drug money..but say they need 1 million to pad that. 13 million and Tony cheats Manny and gives him 25%. That would still be an unreal 3.25 million net per month! Back in the early 80's, Manny could buy that mansion for maybe 1-2 million. One month's work to lay out that mansion with all the trimmings.
Just my take on it. Even if I didnt remember the monthly take..the percentages would still be consistent. Manny could be able to afford such a home in installments like the rest of us and likely their connection at the bank had financed them.
