Why Tony didn't try anything to save Angel ?

Tony did not do ANYTHING to save Angel like trying to make a deal with Hector,
Hector wanted the money more than Angel's life, so Tony only had to give Hector the money or pretend he will, so that to free Angel and to gain time
Hector didn't know Manny and Chi Chi were around, so there was a chance to save the money AND Angel at the same time...but Tony didn't care...his Mum was right about him...

Well the colombians were most probably going to kill Tony and Angel whether they gave them the money or not. By stalling, Tony simple bought himself some time and hoped that Manny would pop in and shoot everyone down.

This is what I meant...Manny and Chi Chi came at the right time to save Tony and Tony knew they would arrive soon but did not try to buy time cheating Hector with a proposition or something about the money he wanted...
Doing that, Angel could have been saved like Tony was

It's pretty obvious the Colombians were going to kill Tony and Angel whether they gave them the money or not, that's why I was talking about trying to buy time as Manny and Chi Chi were just about to come.

Who really knows with Tony Montana. Maybe he was in shock and couldn't really say anything once they took the chainsaw, or maybe he thought it would take some time to chainsaw Angel up which would buy him enough time untill Manny showed up. We know atleast one thing, Tony hates colombians.

I think it was more what Tony said "All I got in this world is my word and I don't break it for no one". Tony had given his word he would make the buy and wouldn't be intimidated. Just like when he was about to kill Frank "I may have made deals Frank but I was ALWAYS loyal to you!". Tony wasn't going to give it up...even if it meant his death. Granted he may have been playing for time but still wouldn't give Hector a thing even if that tactic didn't work. If that had been his main play he could have delayed giving Hector random information about the location of the money to allow the Calvary to come in.

Angels death was not Tonys fault.
It was Manny and Chi Chis fault.
Instead of paying attention to the location where Tony and Angel entered, Manny was trying to pick up a woman and Angel was boogying his head away to the car music. Neither of them were paying attention. They were 2 total idiots.
Way too laid back.
That's how they missed Hectors people grabbing Angel and taking him inside at gun point.
Had Manny and Chi Chi been paying attention - watching Hectors room like an eagle - as they should have been - then THAT could have saved Angel - at least from getting chainsawed to death.
He may well have took a bullet or been shot dead in gunfire anyway though.

Tony was counting on Manny and Chi Chi - or at least one of them seeing what happened outside the door.
But Manny and Chi Chi were morons.
That's why Tony and Angel went in to do the deal - they were the only ones that were wise.

Manny and Chi Chi were parked too far away to have visibility on the door to see Hector's guys coming (the door is on the alleyway and hidden by the staircase) and they just followed Tony's instructions staying away and coming after 15 minutes...the music and the girl did not change a thing as Manny said it was the time to go when he looked at his watch...not they were late

And during this time Tony prefered to provoke and insult Hector when he was threatening to kill Angel instead of buying time...PERIOD.

Nonsense. Manny and Chi Chi were parked directly opposite the apartment. As can be seen clearly when Manny and Chi Chi decide "Let's do it." after 15 minutes they are looking at the apartment. They have a clear and direct sight of it - without binoculars.

OK, maybe you're right about it but it doesn't change anything about Tony's behaviour...

Tony was not provoking Hector. He just knew that Hector was a low life that would skin them alive for fun and Tony was staying in the frame of mind that he's prepared to die for his principles. Angel should have had the same fearlessness going in to a dangerous deal but wasn't mentally prepared like Tony.

Once again, if either Manny or Chi Chi had have paid attention Angek would not have got chainsawed.

Tony WAS provoking Hector.
Hector said he would kill Angel if Tony didn't give him the money, and instead of buying time Tony replied "Try to stick your head inside your ass..."
Then Hector gave him one last chance saying he could still avoid Angel being chainsawed but Tony didn't try anything.
Giving Hector the money or pretending he will do it would have left time to be rescued as Manny and Chi Chi were around
