Philip Seymour Hoffman as Art Howe in Moneyball (Howe is still living despite a recent brush with COVID)
John Hurt as John Champion in Champions (Champion is still living)
Oliver Reed as Gerald Kingsland in Castaway (Kingsland outlived Reed by a year)
Robin Williams as Adrian Cronauer in Good Morning Vietnam (Cronauer outlived Williams by four years)
Williams again as Oliver Sacks in Awakenings (Sacks outlived Williams by a year)
Wylie Draper as Michael Jackson in The Jacksons: An American Dream (Jackson outlived Draper by nearly 17 years)

Peter Boyle portrayed Roger Boisjoly in a made for TV account of the events leading up to the Challenger space shuttle disaster. Boyle died in 2006 while Bosjoly himself, passed away in 2012.

Yūjirō Ishihara died in 1987. Although only billed as ‘the youth’, the movie ‘Alone Across the Pacific’ tells the story of young yachtsman Kenichi Horie, who is still alive.
