This Gold Can Stay: HBO Says Cryptic ‘Outsiders’ Tweet Isn’t About a Remake

Guys, you do realize that the original movie version cut way too many essential scenes from the story, right?

Yes, it had a great cast. It had an EXCELLENT cast. Which is why it's really sad that we didn't get to spend enough time with some of those cast members (Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze, Tom Cruise, etc.), even though their characters were much more prominent in the book and were essential to the story in a big way.

A re-adaptation of the book could have corrected that grave mistake. That and that we had lots of information missing from the story and too many loose ends that the book tied up. The movie could have done just as good of a job tying up those loose ends but the people involved in making it chose not to.
