DVD Question
Have been looking for this movie and I can see that you can get a 2 disk special edition dvd of the film but the reviews for it are quite poor due to the music. Is it possible to get the original version of the film on dvd?

The new one with the new music is called The Outsiders: The Complete Novel. It's really worth seeing as it adds about 15 minutes at the beginning, about 10 more minutes at the end and several new scenes added throughout. To me, the new scenes really enhance the story, but as you already heard, the sound track has been changed and to fan's of the original version, it's a MAJOR difference that changes the entire experience of our first viewing.
For a new viewer who never saw the original (shorter) version, I doubt the new music would make a difference to them.
Who cares about the music change. I'm watching a movie, not going to a concert
