This would be a terrible idea because they would make it with Twilight lite cast and that ruins the story

This movie remade could never live up to the original- there aren't even enough good actors out there nowadays to even do it. The cast then was perfect. Maybe if each actor had a son???

Val Kilmer took part in the casting process for The Outsiders but ended up not doing the movie.

His son Jack Kilmer would be a good choice for one of the greasers. I think he is a natural.

I agree with those who say this should NOT be remade. It's a classic. And what would be the point of a remake? Its a straight drama, modern film equipment and CGI would do nothing to improve upon this film, and no way they could find such an incredible cast like they did. No, a remake will only sully the image of this iconic movie.

Pony boy- Leonardo Dicaprio

Johnny- Jonothan Brandis

Dally- Tom Hanks

Soda pop- Lou diamond philips

Two bit- some two bit actor

Steve- Emilio estevez

Well besides the fact that all these guys are like 40-60 years old now, Two-Bit was played by Emilio Estevez...So uh probably can't play Steve as well.

Cherry Valance- Jason Schwartzman
