Worst crash scene ever????

When the taxi cab crashes into the bulldozer loaded with metal pipes, it flashes the same scene of it colliding and the guy falling off his bike about 5 times.

And you get a good enough view to clearly see there's no one in the bloody taxi cab when the pipe goes through the windshield. You get repeated shots of it, as well as the cab driver screaming in terror and throwing his hands in front of his face.

Not the worst, but certainly sloppily edited with too much repetition. The taxi cab has clearly crashed and already stopped but then there are two shots of it crashing again which are pretty much repeats fromt he same angle.

Peckinpah has some great slo-mo editing in his movies, but this sure ain't one of them.

His editing was probably so bad because he was only a few months away form croaking. Shame this redundant crapfest is the last film we have to remember him by.

This was Peckinpah's trademark!!!!..It seems that you are so used to EVERYTHING happening instantly that you cannot concentrate on a movie for more than a few seconds...........shame!

Talk about overkill! The setup for that scene is excellent, and the shot of the taxi heading for that big pipe is well filmed, but Peckinpah just drives that scene into the ground. A rapid-fire edit would have been much more effective, like the similar scene in "The Omen."

For all the talent involved in this film, it's a big disappointment. At least Peckinpah left a strong body of work to remember him by. Too bad this is his coda, but I guess it could have been worse.

Degree7, the shot does show the driver ducking down (thus evading the pipe) which allows the film to get away with the fact there's no visible driver when the car crashes into the pipe. Not a good scene, not a good movie, but Sam got that part down okay at least.

i can second slokes - i just saw it one minute ago and the driver does duck down, but we do see him cover his face again as things apparently happen, back up and happen again.
