Needs a blu-ray release!!!!
This gem of a movie needs a blu-ray release pronto!!!!
shareYeah it does! What the heck is taking them so long? Whats their problem?!
shareScoundrels sure are taking their sweet time
shareI agree, though I don't think it'll be happening. I read something written online from a YouTube user who emailed Scream Factory about releasing it, and they said the rights had been tied up with Universal, who were unwilling to license it out. I think Universal considers it a bit of an embarrassment or something, but the gist of the story was that it was unlikely that it would be getting a Blu-ray release any time soon, if ever at all.
"The Guardian" and "I Saw What You Did" are two other great Universal horror movies that were released on DVD through Anchor Bay before falling into oblivion. I own both of those DVDs (as well as "Nightmares"), and I'm clinging to them because I'm afraid they aren't going to make it to Blu-ray.
Absolutely infuriating that a well-liked, genuine theatrical release like this (from the hands of the great Joseph Sargent, no less) is not available from any legitimate source -- let alone Blu-Ray orveven VOD. Why do we all put up with this insanity? The film can be seen for free at pirate sites, but we can't pay to watch it. And it's hardly the only one. I'vevgot a long list.
The whole industry deserves a big middle finger for this sorry situation that leaves everyone unhappy -- even the studios.
