'Psycho' References?

Did anyone else notice the references to the Hitchcock movie, "Psycho"? First, we have the shower scene with Beverly D'Angelo at the St. Louis motel and Clark with the banana knife, but then we have Aunt Edna "Dead Mother" to cousin NORMAN and Norman lives in Phoenix, Arizona. In "Psycho", Marion Crane lived in Phoenix.

Everyone and their mother knows the first one, but the second one is interesting, but I think you may be reading too much into it.
