Just saw this for the first time since that remake is coming and I have no idea why people are calling this some classic not to be messed with. I literally did not laugh or smile once. I know it's all subjective anyway but I always think the classic movies are so much more funny than the new ones. Like Airplane and Planes trains and Automobiles. Idk why I didn't like it.

In my eyes this is a classic comedy. Hell I'll even call it one of my favorites of all time.
shareI laughed at least every 5 minutes or so during a rewatch of this movie right up until and including the quick eulogy for Edna in the rain. From then on all the jokes fall flat for me.
