Were you saddened by Dinkums death?

Or was he just a mean dog?

reply

It's always bothered me yet I laugh at it.

reply

No. He bites.

Just ain't right! He didn't deserve it. Hopefully, in real life, a dog in that situation would bark and make a lot of noise to alert the driver.

I'm a huge animal lover, rescuer and usually get very upset and bothered by animal deaths in films. Having said that, for some reason this scene never upset me too much, I still think they could have done without it, kind of unnecessary just like the cat scene in Christmas Vacation

reply

Maybe the scene will serve to remind people not to do things like that, and that includes not only tying a dog to a car, but: putting a baby seat "momentarily" on the roof, forgetting a sleeping child in the back seat, etc., etc.

The dog had rabies.

reply

Not really because it's just a movie and didn't really happen. However, if something like that happened in real life, I would be upset!

reply

No, since it's just a movie. But if it had happened in real life I'd have been crushed, even if the dog was mean.
