Grown men in dresses is Not Funny
Who wants to see a man dressed as a woman? I blame Monty Python for all the men in dresses that try to be funny on tv and in the movies. Damn you Monty Python!

All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain...
Blessed be the cheese makers? Whats so special about the cheese makers?
shareoh no! i think the ones of them dressed as ladies (especially nervous old ones) are the best! i can't get enough of graham chapman in a powdered wig and a flowery dress shrieking "OOOOOOOOH I've had a morning...." They definitely do that the best...a lot of other male comedians seem to think that just by putting on a dress it's immediately funny...i think with monty python (gods!) it's just that they make the most horrendous looking women....and the voices and the portrayal of old buzzards...augh! gets me every time :-D
shareMichael Palin looks sexy in drag. In the Death scene he was Smokin'.
sharelol!! and lucky for you he is in drag quite a lot....at least in the Flying Circus.
shareDebbie (Michael in the Death scene) exudes sensuality and intelligence. She's an interesting, curious and wonderful lady. I was hoping we'd see more of her. "How can we all have died at the same time?", just lovely! I'm a girl myself but I'd certainly be more than glad to have her as my best friend or something of the sort. I'm 15 and it would look strange to have a grown lady like her as a friend, but how old is she supposed to be anyway? I'd give her 30 (she dresses with class, that's why people think she's old). She's married to a loquacious man who appears to be quite conceited, but if she's in love with him who am I to oppose it?
bunch of second hand electric donkey-bottom biters!

I never thought Lemmon & Curtis were particularly funny in drag in Some Like It Hot (same with the whole film, actually)... Very different with Python though. Guess it depends on men.
shareSimply having a man put on a dress is not funny. It is what the man does while in the dress that determines whether it is funny.
In my opinion, Monty Python are very good at making it funny. However, I have seen other people try it and they were awful!
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha
Grown men in dresses is so funny ;)

Grown men in dresses is supposed to be just what it is, absurd!
I have been a Python fan since the last century.....literally.
Terry Jones, in my opinion is the funniest "woman" in the movie,
in particular the foam rollers in his hair during the liver donor
sequence.
This sets the record:

Funny, because I was thinking of suggesting a poll about "Who is the best Monty Python 'pepperpot'?"
While Terry J was the sweetest and the most exposed (no pun intended), I like Graham Chapmans female maniacs with that absurd stiff walk and John Cleese's towering screechy monstrosities. On the other hand, Eric Idle and Michael Palin were almost believable.

Hmmm?
Think how strict this is.
Men are not allowed (this or that), or it's 'not funny' or 'absurd'.
A short time ago, women were not allowed to wear pants. How ridiculous do we find that notion now? And justifiably so!
But men still can't wear anything that looks comfortable, loose, dress-like. Garments like that are not 'manly', so because of your genitals, you're not allowed to drape your body any damn way you wish.
Isn't this strange to anyone? Does anyone even care about equality anymore?
In my opinion, all human beings should be able to wear whatever they damn well please, regardless of how 'dresslike' it is, or what color it is or isn't. But men are only offered masculine, colorless clothes. You can't find pink underwear for men. Why is that?
When you think about this from an Extra-Terrestrial's non-cultural perspective, it is rather mad, isn't it? That 50% of humanity aren't allowed something because of their genitals.
They're not even offered the choice. They're culturally brainwashed to think they shouldn't want to drape themselves like ancient romans, chinese, or many other civilizations that proudly wore colors and 'dresslike garments' throughout the history for hundreds, if not thousands of years.
Roman togas, ancient chinese garments, renaissance outfits, if you go through history, you find men having worn 'dresses' of one kind or another for MOST of history.
But suddenly it's 'absurd'? Can you hear your brain rattling the cultural brainwashing you've been subjugated under?
Really? How about BLESS the Pythons, for being comedic geniuses?
If the issue is 'drag', per se, then you should know that the Pythons didn't invent it. It was done long before 1969 (when the Pythons first teamed up). "Some Like it Hot" featured lead actors in drag, and that was a full decade beforehand. Even Chaplin did it, at least once!
Even Captain America did it(seriously in one of the original 1940s comics he went undercover disguised as a woman, with Bucky(who was the Robin to Cap's Batman so to speak in those days, not his older best friend) as his son.
shareSo.. if the man is not grown, it's funny? Are you laughing at midgets?
