Who would compare this to 'THE WILD ONE'?!?
I've noticed a comment referring to THE LOVELESS as a "loose remake of The Wild One". Where in the H-E-double hockey sticks did ya get that idea from? The only similarity is motorcycles and the comparison ends there, mate! That'd be like saying that WILD AT HEART is a loose remake of THE WIZARD OF OZ due to the ruby slippers, wicked witch references - LOL!
THis is a lovely piece of film marking Katherine Bigelow's directorial debut. It is one of the few flicks that I've seen that stays true to the era in which it is set. Plot-wise it ain't nothin' to write home about, but it is a worthy flick to add to your collection if you're a rockabilly fan (Robert Gordon co-stars in the movie), a 'cycle enthusiast, or one who likes a moody, slow paced movie. If it's scene after scene of action you be lookin' for, look elsewhere, as the pace is slow and purposeful.
