Not good, but certainly better than Episode I

As a child, I used to love Krull. Of course, back then, I didn't realize Krull was not a good movie, but, hey, I liked what I saw and I didn't really care if the script was bad and the acting was even worse.

However, I do feel that Krull is better than Episode I, aka The Phantom Menace. In fact, even Mac & Me is better than the Phantom Menace.

My 2 cents

The only thing about this movie that was worth watching was Ergo. His acting was decent and his dialogue was kind of witty. He is the reason I rated this movie a 2. The rest of this movie really stunk. I understand there are people that like this movie and I respect that, I think this was just a really bad movie for all the reasons people have already stated.

I actually liked Episode I, especially whenever the baddest Star Wars villain ever popped up. That last fight scene was f'ing fantastic. They should have cloned him for the sequels. I thought Episode II was the worst out of the prequels, especially when they made Yoda bounce around like a f'ing Gummi Bear. I suppose he had to fight that way considering his size, but still.

I have to admit, I really disliked Krull when I paid to see it in the movie house, but have come to like it and enjoy it for what it is. I just wish some of the rougher points had better technology for a better presentation;

the giant spider
the flame mares
the slayer's weapons
a few other rough points

Clean those things up and people might have warmed up to this film more than just a cult following.

The real thing that killed this film's mainstream popularity is the fortress from space thing, and the whole "their son will rule the galaxy..." line.

If they had kept it as a kind of medieval fantasy, and not referenced space at all, and used different weapons for the slayers, then this thing probably would have stood the test of time for a mainstream audience.

As it is now it's just a cult film because of all the story wonkiness.
