I seriously doubt a park like SeaWorld would allow their name to be used. Companies are way more concerned about image today than ever. No way a film about a shark eating guests is going to have SeaWorld as its location.
Didn't NASA lend their name to Gravity and The Martian, 2 space disaster flicks?
Jaws 3 came right on the heels of E.T. which saw Reeses Pieces change the product placement game forever... Sea World jumping into the ring was an attempt to cash in.
In the early 80's the thinking was so different than it is today. Try to get SeaWorld to agree to a film where their guests are eaten wouldn't fly with their PR today.
Seaworld has enough do deal with lately with the killer whale controversies.
And they wouldn't care to add to their already terrible image by having a movie about their guests and employees being eaten by a huge shark. reply share
